6.3 Multimedia PC Marketing Council (MPC) level II minimum requirements. The following requirements
are minimum requirements which a CD-ROM disk drive must meet to be compliant to MPC level II.
a. Double speed with CD-DA outputs (capable of sustained 300 kilobytes/second transfer rate).
b. No more than 40 percent of the CPU bandwidth may be consumed when maintaining a sustained
transfer rate of 150 kilobytes/second.
c. Average seek time of 400 ms or less.
d. 10,000 hours MTBF.
e. CD-ROM XA ready (mode 1 capable, mode 2 form 1 capable, mode 2 form 2 capable).
f. Multisession capable.
g. MSCDEX 2.2 driver or equivalent that implements extended audio APIs.
h. Subchannel Q support (P, R-W optional).
6.4 CAGE code. For ordering purposes, inventory control, and submission of these CD-ROM disk drive
units to DESC under the Military Parts Control Advisory Group (MPCAG) evaluation program, CAGE code
58536 should be used.
