3.3.2 Front loadable. This CD-ROM disk drive unit contains a single CD-ROM disk drive and must be front
loadable with one cartridge (i.e., caddy). A cartridge is not required if the unit has a loading tray that does
not require a cartridge.
3.3.3 Multiple sectors. This CD-ROM disk drive unit shall be able to read multiple sectors.
3.3.4 Compatibility. This CD-ROM disk drive shall be ISO 9660 compatible.
3.3.5 Buffer memory capacity. The buffer memory capacity shall be a minimum of 64 kb.
3.3.6 Mean time between failures (MTBF). The MTBF shall be 50,000 hours minimum.
3.3.7 Operation temperature. The operation temperature shall be +5 C to +40 C (±2 C).
3.3.8 Seek error. The seek error shall be 10 x 10-6 or less.
3.3.9 Relative humidity (Rh). The Rh operating range shall be 30 percent to 70 percent Rh (±2 percent).
3.3.10 Operation vibration. This CD-ROM disk drive unit shall be able to withstand 0.1 Go-p at 7 Hz to 300
Hz in X, Y, and Z directions without the loss of data transmission.
3.3.11 Nonoperating vibration. The nonoperating vibration shall be 1.0 Go-p at 7 Hz to 300 Hz.
3.3.12 Operational shock. This CD-ROM disk drive unit shall be able to withstand 0.4 Go-p at 11 ms half-
sine wave without the loss of data transmission.
3.3.13 Nonoperating shock. The nonoperating shock shall be 20 Go-p at 11 ms half-sine wave.
3.3.14 CD-audio compatibility. This CD-ROM disk drive unit shall be capable of reproducing CD audio.
This unit shall be supplied with a right and left channel CD audio line output (RCA phono jacks,
one stereo mini-jack, or a 3 or 4 pin CD audio output connector) located in the rear of the unit. A
volume control and headphone stereo mini-jack shall be located in the front of the unit.
